Selous Sunset Lodge : Selous sunset lodge is a budget accommodationfound on the banks of the majestic River Rufiji, Just Few Meters from the Eastern part of Mtemere gate of selous game reserve in southern Tanzania region. The camp is located 153km from the center of the reserve and 45 minutes flight from Dar-el salaam and approximately 5-6 hours’ drive from Dar-el-salam and it takes a full day drive from Arusha city, it is perfect for flights when one is from arusha taking approximately 2-3 hours flight /an hour flight from Dar-el salaam to the close airstrip then few minutes to drive to the camp. The camp is in the perfect base for safari adventure to tourists and travellers who want to explore the park with its beautiful views and wildlife roaming around river Rufiji .
Selous Sunset Lodge consists of 4 spacious and comfortable rooms overlooking the great views of the river and the spectacular sunset reflects traditional building style with local woods and thatched roofs. Rooms are well decorated, elevated on a raised platform and furnished with en-suite facilities of Clean flushing toilet, bathroom with hot and cold running showers, solar energy available, beds wrapped with mosquito nets, slippers, free toiletries, white duvets, towels and bathrobes, complementary bottled water to mention but a few rooms have terraces and large sitting area you relax while overlooking the spectacular view over the river and the surrounding areas. Rooms are equipped with excellent clean and washed beddings with comfortable queen and king sized wooden beds. Rooms vary in different sizes with single beds for individuals, double bed/ twins for sharing and perfect for family /group of four. The camp has cracking fireplaces where guests can relax and share stories and experience of the safari not only that it also provides warmth to the guests during cold days.

They serve buffet breakfast, picnic lunch and diners served by Friendly, welcoming and organized staff with skilled chef. They serve bush dinners overlooking the stars in the sky and morning breakfast enjoying the morning sunrises.

Selous game reserve is africa’s largest and oldest game reserve situated in the protected areas in South Eastern Part of Tanzania Region along the safari circuit. The park was designed by UNESCO world heritage site in 1982 due to its wildlife diversity and nature. It is well known as Nyerere national park covering a total area of 50,000 km squared perfect for travellers exclusive and wildlife safari experience and best destination for birdlife.
The best time to visit seleous game reserve is during the dry season from June to October when game clusters around the waterhole. The park harbors largest concentration of elephants of 110,000 , 40,000 Hippos , 25,000 Impalas, 35,000 zebras, 4,000 lions over 150,000 buffaloes and other wildlife species that includes; cheetahs, Giraffes, hunting dogs, black rhinos and many more and over 440 species of birds like; lagoons, sandbanks , grey breasted spur fowl, Kori bustard, secretary birds and many more which enables more tourists to visit the park and stay for along time.
