4 Days gorilla and golden monkey trekking safari takes you to the Mgahinga National Park in Uganda for an amazing encounter with two critically endangered primates; Golden monkeys and the mountain gorilla. Mgahinga gorilla national park is home to the Virunga volcanoes shared with Rwanda and Democratic Republic of Congo and home to the Virunga. It is the smallest of all Uganda national parks but filled with engaging activities for any outdoor enthusiast. On this gorilla trekking and golden monkey trekking safari you will be able to explore the beauty of this park. If you are interested in hiking any of the Volcanoes i.e. Sabyinyo, Gahinga and Muhavura, you can choose to extend your stay.

Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable national park – Kisoro
Upon arrival Entebbe airport very early morning or depending on your location in Kampala/Entebbe, you will be picked up to transfer to Bwindi impenetrable forest national park located in the western part of Uganda by road. You will have a stopover at the Uganda Equator for photography and the experiment and another stopover in Mbarara town for lunch. Proceed to Kisoro arriving late afternoon, upon arrival, connect to your booked lodge for relaxation dinner and overnight stay at Travellers’ Rest Hotel for budget/Lake Chahafi Lodge for mid-range/Gahinga lodge for luxury
Day 2: Gorilla Trekking experience – Mgahinga national park
You will enjoy early morning breakfast and transfer to the park headquarters with your packed lunch and bottled drinking water for briefing by the park ranger guides at 7:00am. After briefing, you will start your gorilla trekking journey accompanied by the ranger guides in search of the mountain gorillas; this takes 2 to 8 hours depending on the movement of the gorillas.
However, the guides will try to find them from where they were last seen the previous day! You will spend 1 hour with these gentle giants and later return to your lodge to refresh and relax. In the evening, you can do an optional community tour around Bwindi for a Rwanda cultural experience. Dinner and overnight stay at lodge as above.
Day 3: Golden Monkeys tracking
You will enjoy early morning breakfast and transfer to the park headquarters with your packed lunch and bottled drinking water for briefing by the park ranger guides at 7:00am. After briefing, you will start your golden monkey trekking journey accompanied by the ranger guides in search of the Monkeys. After trekking, return to your lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight stay at lodge as above
Day 4: Transfer back to Kampala/Entebbe – Departure
You will enjoy breakfast and transfer back to Kampala with a stopover in Mbarara town for lunch. Proceed to Kampala/Entebbe arriving in late afternoon. You will be drop off at the hotel in either Kampala/Entebbe as you advise or at Entebbe airport for your onward flight back home.
