Mpingo Lodge Selous is a mid–range accommodation found along the banks of River Rufiji, Not far from the Main entrance of Selous National Park in the Tanzania region. The lodge is outside the park with the great views of the river. The camp is located 230 km from Dar-el salaam that’s approximately 5-6 hours drive from Dar-el-salam to the lodge .it takes a full day drive from Arusha city, it is perfect for flights when one is from Arusha taking approximately 2-3 hours flight /an hour flight from Dar-el salaam to the close airstrip then few minutes to drive to the lodge. The camp is in the perfect base for safari adventure to tourists and travelers who want to explore the park with its beautiful views and wildlife roaming around river Rufiji.
Mpingo Lodge Selous consists of over 5 spacious and comfortable en suite tents overlooking the great views of the river and reflecting the traditional building style with paved stones. Tents are well decorated, elevated on a raised platform, and furnished with en-suite facilities of Clean flushing toilets, bathrooms with hot and cold running showers, solar energy available, beds wrapped with mosquito nets, slippers, free toiletries, white duvets, towels, and bathrobes, complimentary bottled water to mention but a few. Tents have terraces and large sitting areas where you relax while overlooking the spectacular view of the river and the surrounding areas. Tents are equipped with excellent clean and washed beddings with comfortable queen and king-sized wooden beds. Tents vary in different sizes with single beds for individuals, double beds/ twins for sharing, and family tent for groups. The camp has cracking fireplaces where guests can relax and share stories and experience the safari not only that it also provides warmth to the guests during cold days.

Selous Game Reserve is Africa’s largest and oldest game reserve situated in the protected areas in the southeastern Part of the Tanzania Region along the safari circuit. The park was designed by the UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1982 due to its wildlife diversity and nature. It is well known as Nyerere National Park covering a total area of 50,000 km squared perfect for travellers’ exclusive wildlife safari experience and the best destination for birdlife. The best time to visit Selous Game Reserve is during the dry season from June to October when the game clusters around the waterhole. The park harbors the largest concentration of elephants 110,000, 40,000 Hippos, 25,000 Impalas, 35,000 zebras, 4,000 lions over 150,000 buffaloes, and other wildlife species that include; cheetahs, Giraffes, hunting dogs, black rhinos and many more and over 440 species of birds like; lagoons, sandbanks, grey breasted spur fowl, Kori bustard, secretary birds and many more which enables more tourists to visit the park and stay for a long time. It is 83$ to enter the park.
