Usangu Expedition camp is a small luxury season accommodation found in the remote areas on the banks of the wetlands sitting among the woodland shades in the heart of the wilderness in Ruaha National park Tanzania Region. The camp is owned and operated by asilia camps and lodges that run unique accommodations across Kenya and Tanzania.
It takes approximately 5-6 hours flight from Arusha Town to the Close Msembe airstrip since its far by road transport to Ruaha national park over 942km and flying is the best way to the park . It takes about 45 minutes’ drive from the airstrip to the Camp and 120km (3 hours’ drive) from Iringa town.
Usangu Expedition camp consists of 4 luxurious and elegant en suite tents suitable for family, individual solo travellers and sharing with the beautiful views of the surrounding plains built in African Traditional style with high level of comfort. Tents are well elevated on a raised wooden platform, decorated in Ethnic Manner and furnished with tranquility and en suite private facilities of flushing toilet , separate bathroom with hot and cold showers, mosquito nets , wooden chairs and tables , complementary bottled water in the rooms , free toiletries, had wash basin , white curtains to mention but few . Each Chalet has a large Interior sitting areas and covered veranda that give a stunning view over the plains and surrounding areas. Chalets are well equipped with comfortable poster beds containing queen and king sized beds and wooden ceiling fans. There is a camp fire pit with comfortable seats where guests relax especially after a Tanzana tour as they share stories; it also provides warmth during chill weather. Chalets are in different sizes with singles bed for individuals, doubles beds for sharing/ twins, and family rooming options as mentioned above with different costs ranging from 300$ per night and above. The room rate keeps changing as they go high during peak season than in low seas

A dining area in the main building with the stunning view of the park serving different cuisines both international and African- inspired meals that meets guests choice. Meals offered includes Continental breakfast, picnic lunch and dinner in the main building served by well trained, friendly and welcoming staff, you can have meals in any place of your choice either veranda overlooking the river and the park or in the dining areas. Bush breakfast is also offered while enjoying morning sunrises and bush dinners while overlooking the stars in the sky.
A-well stocked bar with variety of refreshment both alcoholic and nonalcoholic overlooking the spectacular view of the park and surrounding area. You relax while sipping the sundowners as you listen to the Africa’s sound of nature.

Ruaha national park is the second largest national park in Tanzania after Nyerere national park found in the south of the central mid- point of Tanzania and west of Iringa Town . The park was established in 1964 and It covers the total area of 20,226 square kilometers (7,809 ) square miles.
The Park is most visited and has different categories of accommodations that include Budget, Mid- range/ moderate and Luxury/expensive accommodations that are convenient and affordable to any travellers, tourists visiting the park.
