Ngorongoro Crater is found in the Northern part of Tanzania close to the Ngorongoro conservation area in the great rift valley covering the total area of 8,292km and its 3 million years old . The crater is the best place in East Africa with beautiful breathtaking Views. There are different attractions in the park which include; wild beast migration from Serengeti , Ngorongoro crater, Salei Plains and Ol karien Gorge, Variety flora and Fauna, stunning scenery and many more attractions. The park contains short grasses with more high lands and other beautiful volcanoes. The area have over 25,000 large animals including 26 black rhinoceros and over 100 number of lions, 7,000 wild beasts, 4,000 zebras, 3,000 eland and 3,000 Grant’s and Thomson’s gazelles . The park has different animal including the big five mammals of the world ; lion ,Buffaloes, elephant, leopards ,Rhinos ,zebras , implalas , antelopes and different bird species . There are more masaai mara pastoralists in Ngorongoro park ,June –july and late January and February are the best month to travel in Tanzania for a safari especially Ngorongoro side.
1 Day Ngorongoro Crater Wildlife Safari
You will be picked up from you hotel in Arusha as early as 6am by your guide who will welcome you and brief you about the safari. After briefing , you will be driven to Ngorongoro conservation area , famous for hosting the largest in-active caldera in the world and the Big 5 animals. You will go with your packed lunch and later descend 600 meters in the Ngorongoro crater for amazing wildlife viewing opportunities and to enjoy the beautiful and stunning sceneries . You will look out for a variety of wildlife species which include wildebeest, zebra, buffalo,eland, warthog, hippo and giant African Elephants as well as predators such as Lions, Hynas, Jackals, cheetahs and leopards.
You will also vistlake magadi which is a large and shallow alkaline lake in the southwestern corner and is among the main features of the crater . You will see a large number of Flamingos, hippos as well as other bird species during your visit to the lake .
After ngorongoro crater experience , you will be transferred to your hotel in karatu or Arusha which will bring you safari to the end .
