1 Day Chemka / Kikuletwa Hot springs tour : The Chemka Hot Springs, located 40 kilometers from Moshi town, are a backcountry oasis in the Kilimanjaro region. After a difficult hike up Mount Kilimanjaro or an adventurous bush safari in Serengeti, Ngorongoro or Tarangire, you can find the perfect respite at these lovely underground springs with their turquoise, crystal-clear water. But they are also a great place for day trippers.
The Chemka Hot Springs allow you to linger, swim, and explore, whether you’re young or elderly, peaceful or energetic. The pond is incredibly deep, up to 10 meters in some areas, but the water is so pure that you can always see the bottom. You can camp, eat your food, or simply enjoy the sun on the shoreline beneath luxuriant trees.
Again, here you can sunbathe or unwind in hammocks under the shade while swimming and snorkeling in the clear, warm water (26 degrees). The natural Chemka and Kikuletwa hot springs, which are tucked away in a lush forest, are great for enjoying a soothing soak or just using as a setting for a peaceful picnic or barbecue. You can stay here for as little or as long as you desire, with the option to camp overnight, and you will be accompanied by a driver and a guide. If you’re fortunate, you might be able to see baboons perched in the branches above you.
